The School District of Ashland will be showing the movie “RESILIENCE- The
biology of stress and the science of hope”. The 60-minute film discusses the
impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on the developing brain and the effects it can have on health, academic, behavior and social outcomes for people throughout the course of their lives. This thought provoking film has significant implications in the Chequamegon Bay Area, and the School District of Ashland is sharing the film to help bring awareness of the issue to the community as a whole. The film will be followed by a conversation about how the Ashland Schools are addressing ACEs and trauma in the school setting and how the rest of the community can work together to help build resilience community wide. Admission to the film is free and doors will open at 5:45pm.
